Bel and I arrived on Fire Island a half-hour early. Yeah, I was a little sore, but I refused to just remove it this time. I didn't exactly hurt, but if I moved a certain way, the feeling sent my mind right back to what had happened in Bel's room. The way my demon had savaged my body so perfectly. The big guy was so worried about me, but I loved that it didn't stop him. Mostly because there was something hot about a man losing control. When it was over me, even better.
But the moment we stepped onto Tyrnigg, I realized that injuries also carried over from body to body. And due to their wings, demons didn't wear shirts. Angels didn't usually either, but the fact that the claw marks down Bel's back were clear for everyone to see? Yep, my cheeks were one stage warmer than normal. Of course, the rest of our legion didn't miss it either.
"Bragging?" Nick asked as he walked over.
I turned to find his eyes on Bel's back. "A bit," Bel gloated. "Making sure they know. That's all."
Then he looked at me. "Uh-huh..." I had a feeling that was for Bel too. "Sia, did you know you have a bruise on your neck?"
"A hickey," Bel said proudly. "Do not be jealous."
Nick flared his wings and stepped into Bel's face. "Don't you dare break her."
Bel just spread his to match, proving his wings were wider. "The Devil does not break. She also is strong enough to take it. Do not act like she is fragile. She is a demon."
Both of their tails were lashing like cats, but the others had also made their way over. Luke had a hand pressed over his lips. Hard. I was pretty sure he was trying to stifle a laugh. Ron's eyes were wide, but also roaming. Granted, Nick and Bel were gorgeous in their fury, but I didn't want them throwing down in front of the Fallen Ones. That wasn't the impression we wanted to give.
Then Sam gently rested his hand on my back. "Let them figure it out," he whispered. "It'll remind the angels that they aren't always gentle."
"Fallen Ones," Ron corrected. "Pretty sure there are no angels here."
"Exactly," Luke said, but it was strained enough to prove that he was trying really hard not to laugh. "So Sia? Things get a little wild last night?"
"It was really more daytime."
"Australia," Luke agreed. "So, yeah. Just tell me that you got some sleep in the middle of..." He flicked a hand toward Bel's body. "...That."
"Mhm, and I slept like a baby."
But the guys weren't done. Both of them were staring at each other, all of their muscles tense. The problem seemed to be that Bel wouldn't back down. Neither of them said a word, not for a very long time, and I was starting to get worried about fists flying. Then Nick reached up and tapped the bite mark on Bel's collar bone.
"Did she ask you to stop?" he demanded.
